Insurance Appraisal (Disputed Claims)
When you and your insurer can’t agree on the loss amount, I help you use appraisal to seek fairness.
Service Description
Insurance Appraisal Support for Stuck or Underpaid Claims Sometimes the carrier agrees there’s a covered loss—but not on how much the damage is worth. If your estimate and the insurance company’s number are miles apart, your policy may give you another option besides “take it or leave it” or hiring an attorney right away: the appraisal clause. In an appraisal, each side chooses an appraiser. Those appraisers (and, if needed, a neutral umpire) focus on scope and pricing of the damage and determine the amount of loss. In many policies, that number becomes binding for both sides, subject to your deductibles, limits, and other policy terms. I help homeowners, business owners, and contractors in Texas and Florida understand appraisal, get their file ready, and work with a qualified, disinterested appraiser on their side. When Appraisal May Be a Good Fit Appraisal can make sense when: The insurance company accepts coverage but disagrees on the dollar amount Your contractor’s or public adjuster’s estimate is much higher than the carrier’s Negotiations have stalled and you want a structured, non-lawsuit option The real dispute is how much work is needed and what it should cost (If the carrier fully denies coverage, other strategies are usually better than appraisal.) How White Rock Public Adjusting Helps For policyholders considering or already in appraisal, I can: Review your policy & appraisal clause Explain what appraisal can and cannot decide Compare the carrier’s estimate with a complete, code-compliant repair scope Help you weigh the costs and benefits of moving forward with appraisal Organize your file: estimates, photos, measurements, codes, reports Coordinate with a qualified policyholder appraiser where required Support you through the process, from demand letter to award In some situations, a public adjuster cannot serve as the appraiser on the same claim. In those cases, I focus on preparation, documentation, and strategy while a separate appraiser represents you in the appraisal process. Important Note Consulting only – does not create public adjuster representation I am a licensed public adjuster, not an attorney. I do not provide legal advice. My role is to help you understand the claims and appraisal process, document your loss, and present your position clearly so you can pursue a fair outcome under your policy.
